Before & After School Care

Pacific Crest offers before and after school care on a daily basis for primary and elementary children. Our program facilitates a seamless transition between the child’s classroom, after school care and home. In a home-like setting children participate in cooking projects, art, stories, outdoor activities, gardening and games, as well as a continuation of some of the classroom activities.

During a typical year, before school care starts at 7:45a.m., after school care begins at 12:00p.m. for the younger students and 3 p.m. for the older students. Care is available until 5:30p.m. Childcare is offered for many of our school holidays. A schedule of childcare availability is published prior to each school year.

“The convenience and security of having the after care program so fully integrated with the school, both physically and philosophically, adds tremendously to our peace of mind.”

Summer Program

The Pacific Crest summer program is for primary and elementary students and is offered in week-long blocks. There is a balance within the weeks of structured activities and outings, arts and crafts, gardening and cooking, and time for relaxation and play. Two to three days a week, the summer program visits parks, wading pools, beaches, Pacific Crest farm, and places of interest around the Seattle area. On Fridays we make our lunch at school. The summer program begins the week after the last day of school and runs through the second week of August.

Bright Street Classes

After school classes for elementary and middle school students are offered throughout the school year. Past offerings have included Spanish club, drumming, cooking, claymation, theater, chess club, knitting and sewing. Classes are offered in three sessions during the school year. We also offer special summer classes.
