Bilingual AMI trained Elementary Guide
Pacific Crest is currently seeking a bilingual AMI trained Elementary Guide to join our team beginning in the summer of 2025. The Elementary Spanish teacher would be responsible for planning and providing AMI elementary lessons in Spanish, necessary Spanish vocabulary lessons and inspiring creative follow-up work to small groups of children in all elementary classrooms. Included within the responsibilities of this position are the introduction of cultural practices of Spanish speaking countries to the children. This position would also require creating necessary materials for instruction. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining regular communication with all elementary teachers regarding readiness of the children for Montessori lessons, the follow-up work initiated by the children and their understanding of the presentation. Also included in the responsibilities are the maintenance of accurate records and providing written summaries of each child’s progress three times/year. Outside of the school year and school day, this guide will offer Spanish immersion, art & culture workshops and camps.
Requirements:
Native Spanish speaker
AMI Elementary diploma from a Spanish speaking training program
Experience in bilingual education
Background in art and art instruction
Excellent communication skills
Deep knowledge of cultural practices of at least one Spanish speaking country
Primary Program Coordinator
We are seeking exceptional candidates with an AMI Primary diploma to serve as our Primary Program Coordinator. The Coordinator will support our four primary classrooms and Aftercare programs by managing Primary level staff hiring, providing guidance and mentorship to primary guides and classroom assistants; occasionally substituting in the classroom; and leading and coordinating parent education and communication to support parents in extending the Montessori experience into the family and into Elementary. These duties will entail collaboration with Primary Teachers, the Primary Aftercare Manager, school administration, and perhaps with parent volunteer coordinators. We are seeking enthusiastic, collaborative applicants with a minimum of six years experience as a primary guide, who are passionate about Montessori education, promoting diversity, supporting inclusion, celebrating belonging and who are self-motivated and easily take initiative. Excellent communication skills are required, a strong sense of organization is expected and a keen interest and proficiency in writing is necessary.
